The past year has presented numerous obstacles for small businesses, with the COVID-19 pandemic and accelerated digital changes being two of the most significant. Companies that wish to continue surviving (or possibly thriving) must continue to adapt to current consumer preferences, such as enhancing convenience.
According to new research from the digital strategy and marketing firm Avionos, convenience is now the primary reason consumers shop at both large and small local retailers. Avionos discovered that contemporary U.S. consumers feel "overwhelmed by digital communications from brands," but that simplicity and convenience cut through the noise. This suggests that small businesses must support customers and remove as many obstacles as possible to shopping with them.
