The company states that it is part of the family-owned Lars Larsen Group, and that its founder, Lars Larsen, opened the first JYSK store in Aarhus, Denmark, in 1979.
On its corporate website, JYSK identifies the operating company as JYSK A/S and lists its head office at Soedalsparken 18, 8220 Brabrand, Denmark. JYSK reports more than 3,600 stores and webshops in about 50 countries, and its FY25 annual report states that it had 34,000 employees.
