The Business Model of Coinbase
Coinbase is a US-based company that provides a trading platform for a variety of cryptocurrencies. They offer two primary products: a trading platform for purchasing cryptocurrency, and a wallet for performing everyday financial activities and storing cryptocurrencies. Coinbase divides its consumers generally into two categories: private individuals for whom the initial product was created, and corporate customers, or investors, who can also transfer bigger volumes at a lower cost with the "Pro" version. Additionally, they have announced a marketplace for NFTs for 2021. Coinbase has 73 million users and a market share of 11.2 percent of all crypto assets, which is around $180 billion. As a result, they claim to be the world's largest cryptocurrency trading platform.
