The Business Model of AIDA Cruises
The shipping company AIDA Cruises, with its headquarters in the Hanseatic and university city of Rostock, is one of the leading companies in the tourism industry in Germany. The company offers cruises all over the world. AIDA Cruises has belonged to the British-American cruise company Carnival Corporaions & plc since 2003 and has since sailed under the flag of the Italian subsidiary Costa Crociere. In 2021, the fleet lists 14 ships with a capacity of over 31,888 beds. AIDA offers its customers comparatively cheap cruise deals, with the revenue then being brought in with the help of additional offers on deck. The brand is also very well known for its many leisure activities and entertainment options on board. AIDA's ships are part of Italy's merchant navy and therefore have to sail under Italy's environmental, labour and tax regulations as a flag state.
