The Business Model of Pinterest
Ben Silbermann, Evan Sharp, and Paul Sciarra collaborated on this project in 2010. Pinterest is a social media platform located in San Francisco that was founded to facilitate the sharing of ideas and inspiration for a variety of interests and projects. Pinterest is a free website, however registration is required to use it. Currently, the service is accessible via a web browser and mobile applications for iOS, Android, and Windows 10 PCs. The founders' goal is to assist people in organizing their social life in a digital realm. It enables users to engage visually with one another and discover new interests by sharing images or videos on their own boards or by reposting from others' boards. You can either upload a photo from your computer or use the Pinterest pin button to save items found on the internet. This results in a group of "pins" with a common topic. Additionally, businesses can use "Pinterest Business" to promote their content and attract new clients.
