The Business Model of Gopuff
Gopuff was founded in Philadelphia in 2013 by two Drexel University students named Yakir Gola and Rafael Ilishayev. The delivery service offers food and consumer goods that are carried in a regular supermarket, such as snacks, drinks and hygiene products like cleaning products and baby items. Orders are placed via an app or the website and there is a delivery fee that ranges from $1.79 to $2.99 depending on the country and region. There is an additional charge for the purchase of alcohol. Payment is made directly via the app or website. There is also "Fam", a monthly membership programme that offers free delivery and discounts. Gopuff buys products directly from manufacturers and stores them in micro-logistics warehouses. In most cities, Gopuff delivers around the clock and in as little as 30 minutes. Today, the company operates in over 1200 cities in North America and Europe and owns several retail stores in the US and around 700 warehouses.
